Does anyone know if this place - Blue Skies Trailer Village - started by Bing Cosby and Jack Benny still exists? I have not been able to find ANY information about this anywhere!

Lightbulb Blue Skies Village / Bing Crosby

Blue Skies Village is now a gated community and all trailers (mobile homes) are individually owned. It's located at: 70260 US Highway 111, (Peterson Road & Country Club Drive) in Rancho Mirage, CA. Although no tours are available, they will let you drive around the community. For additional informaton, contact Beverly at: (760) 328-2600. Access to the village is ONLY Monday through Thursday from 8 am until noon. Unfortunately there is no website for you to visit for more information, however Beverly will be happy to answer any question you might have!

Yes there is a WEB site with all the history, lots of information. In search type in Blue Skies Village and if that doesn't work try this WEB site below. When the site comes up scroll down, because it starts as a blank page

Great question. My grandfather, Rex Thompson, came to Blue Skies Trailer Village to design and develop it in the late 50's. When he became a stockholder he changed the name to Blue Skies Village. Many of the original mobile homes are still in place. Bing Crosby and many stars were the original stockholders.

Yes it was...you can get more information if you watch "California Gold" which is a travel log type program in the educational station KCET. It is hosted by Huell Howser; he goes all over our great state of California telling his viewing audience about some very interesting places that he has found. He did several programs just on Palm Springs. Huell also host several other travel log type show all of which are sponored AAA of California. I suggest that you go online to get more information on Huell Howser and California Gold.

Default There now

I am writing this from within Blue Skies Village where I have stayed for the last week with a cousin. Well maintained and in varying degrees of condition and rehab. Very reasonable. Taxes are $480 a year and $255 a month for association dues which includes water, maintenance, pool, trash pickup and more. You should visit soon. 84 degrees today.

Yes...sounds good.....but for that kind of money, after all is said, you might as well buy a brick and mortar home.some or most do not see the trees from the forest.my opinion,i would have a mortgage payment on something more tangible.all of those stars were investors, those people did not live there !especially in todays economy.most retirees don't get much,ss,so beware.my imput..........j

Default Blue Skies

My grandparents lived in Blue Skies Village for quite awhile back in the early 80's. I have very happy memories of spending a week or two there every winter (we are from Michigan).
